Purpose: *This intergrative capstone project provides me an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills I have acquired in the MEd program in a real-world setting. *The overall focus of this project is to develop a technology -based and research-supported strategy for identifying an authentic problem with student performance that could be improved through the application of technology. *It will entail developing a strategy for solving a specific instructional problem. Devising a plan and carrying out the implementation of the problem's solution.
| Meet the Author:*I am a graduate student of the University of Maryland and am currently finishing my final course for my MEd in Instructional Technology. *I am a mother of three wonderful children ages 14, 10, and 6. I have a very supportive husband of fifteen years who recently retired from active duty military service. *I have a B.S. in Biology and have taught High School Biology in the Montgomery County School District years ago. Since then I home-schooled for five years due to frequent military moves. Now my children have had the benefit of homeschooling and public school. *I enjoy helping find ways to enhance student learning particularly in my area of my expertise, Biology. I am currently not teaching. *However, I will be collaborating with my daughter's Biology teacher in order to complete this project successfully. I get a wonderful opportunity to help create and provide a wonderful resource to High School Biology students that I hope will be truly beneficial and evident in their increased enthusiasm for topics in biology and performance on both classroom and state assessments. |
