Phase 4: Implementation of Solution
* The "Student Survey" will be distributed by the biology teacher whom I am working with in collaboration. She will download, and distribute a copy for all students in three of the four sections to complete. The students are expected to complete the survey at the end of the class session. I will collect the completed surveys on site from this teacher in mid-October, 2012.
* The "Webquest Activity" will be distributed similarly as the student survey. However, the collection of this data will be solely via email correspondence with the collaborating biology teacher. Initially, the plan was to distribute this activity as an academic tool while the students are covering the specific chapter. However, due to unexpected events by the contibuting teacher, the webquest activity will be given as an extra credit activity on November 26, 2012.
* The "Running Log" sheet will be distributed similarly as the Webquest Activity. However, the collection of this data will be solely via email correspondence with the collaborationg biology teacher. However, due to unexpected events by the contibuting teacher, this activity will not be given.
* The "I Think I Got It" activity sheet will be distributed similar to the Webquest Activity. However, the collection of this data will be solely via email correspondence with the collaborationg biology teacher. However, due to unexpected events by the contibuting teacher, this activity will not be distributed. * The results of Assessments taken before and after the participation of the Webquest activity will be forwarded via electronic correspondence from the collaborating biology teacher. Currently, data was collected that reflects student test results in September 2012. I await data collected on assesments given after the completion of the webquest activity by November 28,-30 2012 timeframe.

What took place during implementation?
* During the implementation of the "Student Survey" given in mid-October, only eighty percent of the students completed the survey in its entirety. Many students welcomed the chance to provide their input regarding what technology can be used in the classroom and what activities they would like to see conducted in the classroom.
* I await feedback regarding the implementation of the Chapter 6 (Chromosomes & Cell Reproduction) Webquest activity from the contributing biology teacher.
* I await the results of the Chapter 6 unit assessment which is expected to occur by November 30, 2012. |
